Uzbekistan Ambassador, Pakistan’s Bilal Bin Saqib Discuss Cooperation in Digital Economy and Virtual Assets

ISLAMABAD, Aug 20: Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Pakistan held a meeting with Pakistan’s Minister of State for Blockchain and Crypto and Chairman of the Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority, Bilal Bin Saqib, to discuss new avenues of bilateral cooperation in the digital economy, virtual assets, blockchain technology, digital finance and artificial intelligence.During the meeting, the Pakistani side expressed strong interest in Uzbekistan’s experience in regulating cryptocurrency mining, particularly the “Besqala Mining Valley” special mining zone established in the Republic of Karakalpakstan.

The special mining zone provides conditions for conducting mining activities using renewable energy sources and other energy sources permitted under Uzbek legislation.Bilal Bin Saqib is scheduled to visit Tashkent from August 24 to 26 to participate in the inaugural Silk Road Finance and Technology Forum.During his visit, he is expected to gain firsthand insight into Uzbekistan’s experience in the digital and virtual assets sector, discuss potential joint projects and explore opportunities for direct cooperation between the financial and regulatory institutions of Uzbekistan and Pakistan.

The meeting also focused on strengthening cooperation in blockchain technologies, virtual assets, digital finance and artificial intelligence, with both sides agreeing to advance collaboration in these emerging areas.The discussions reflect the growing scope of Uzbekistan-Pakistan relations, with the two countries seeking to expand their partnership beyond traditional trade and investment towards advanced technologies that are increasingly shaping the global economy.
