Algerian Embassy in Islamabad Marks 64th Independence and Youth Day with Patriotic Ceremony

The Embassy of Algeria in Islamabad commemorated the 64th Anniversary of Algeria’s Independence and Youth Day on Sunday, 5 July 2026, under the theme “Independence: A Trust for Generations.” The ceremony brought together members of the Algerian community in Pakistan and embassy staff to honor the country’s historic journey to freedom and reaffirm their commitment to Algeria’s continued progress.

The event commenced with the playing of the Algerian national anthem, followed by the recitation of Surah Al-Fatiha and a minute of silence in tribute to the martyrs whose sacrifices secured Algeria’s independence and sovereignty.Addressing the gathering, H.E. Ambassador Brahim Romani reflected on the immense sacrifices and unwavering determination of the Algerian people that led to the country’s liberation after years of struggle. He paid tribute to the generations of martyrs whose courage and resilience made it possible for Algeria to emerge as a free, sovereign, and dignified nation.

The Ambassador also highlighted Algeria’s remarkable achievements in recent years under the leadership of Abdelmadjid Tebboune, emphasizing the country’s steady progress across various sectors. He praised the government’s continued efforts to enhance services and support for Algerian citizens living abroad and encouraged members of the diaspora to contribute their expertise to national development and participate in initiatives aimed at building a stronger and more prosperous Algeria.The ceremony concluded with a renewed expression of national pride and unity, honoring the legacy of Algeria’s heroes and reaffirming the nation’s enduring commitment to freedom, progress, and future generations.Long live a free, independent, and proud Algeria.
