GUJRANWALA:The Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) and the US-Pakistan International Chamber of Commerce (USPICC) have agreed to work together to expand trade opportunities, facilitate business-to-business (B2B) networking, and help local industries increase their presence in the United States market.The understanding was reached during the visit of a high-level delegation led by M. Siddique Sheikh, Founder and Chairman of USPICC. The delegation also included Malik Sohail Hussain, Secretary General of USPICC and the Pakistan Canada Trade Association as well as President of the Hafizabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and M. Aoun Raza, President of the Mandi Bahauddin Chamber of Commerce and Industry.The visiting delegation was welcomed by GCCI President Ali Humayun Butt, Senior Vice President Saad Jameel Irfani, members of the Executive Committee, and representatives of the local business community.
Speaking at the ceremony, M. Siddique Sheikh said Gujranwala’s manufacturing sector enjoys a strong reputation and has considerable potential in the U.S. market. He said USPICC would actively support Pakistani exporters by creating business connections, facilitating trade missions, and introducing local manufacturers to American buyers and business organizations.He appreciated the leadership of Ali Humayun Butt, saying the Gujranwala Chamber had made significant progress in promoting trade and strengthening international business relations. He also invited the chamber leadership to visit the United States for meetings with American chambers of commerce, business leaders, and public representatives to explore new avenues of cooperation.Addressing the participants, Malik Sohail Hussain said small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Gujranwala have the capacity to compete successfully in international markets if provided with the right platform. He announced plans for a major B2B business event in the United States in 2027, where Pakistani companies will have the opportunity to meet potential buyers, investors, and commercial partners.President Ali Humayun Butt thanked the delegation for its visit and reaffirmed GCCI’s commitment to strengthening global trade partnerships.
He referred to the chamber’s recent trade mission to Portugal, describing it as a productive visit that resulted in valuable business contacts and cooperation agreements. He added that the chamber is prepared to send a representative trade delegation from Gujranwala’s 34 industrial sectors to the United States whenever B2B meetings are scheduled.The visit concluded with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between GCCI and USPICC, aimed at promoting bilateral trade, encouraging investment, and creating new export opportunities for Pakistani businesses in the U.S. market.
