J Salik, Pastor Imran Masih Lead Peaceful Protest in Rimsha Colony Against Possible Eviction

Islamabad (IN): A peaceful protest was held in Rimsha Colony, Sector H-9 Islamabad, under the leadership of former federal minister J Salik and Pastor Imran Masih, where a large number of Christian community members, including women, children, elderly citizens, and youth, participated to raise their voice for their rights.

The protesters expressed serious concerns over the expected anti-encroachment operation by the Capital Development Authority (CDA). Participants carried placards bearing slogans such as “Do Not Make Us Homeless,” “Provide Us Shelter,” and “Give Us Justice.”Residents stated that they have been living in Rimsha Colony for many years and claimed they were previously relocated to the area, making it unfair to now declare their homes illegal and force them to vacate.

Addressing the gathering, speakers said the Christian community is peaceful and hardworking and should be supported rather than displaced. They urged authorities to consider the education of children, care of elderly residents, and employment challenges before taking any final decision.The protest remained completely peaceful, and no untoward incident was reported.

At the conclusion of the demonstration, protesters announced that if their demands were ignored, they would continue their peaceful and legal struggle for their rights.Residents of Rimsha Colony said they remain united for the protection of their homes and will continue to raise their voice against any injustice.
