ASTANA, 28 May — Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has arrived in Astana, Kazakhstan, on a working visit to participate in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) summit and the 5th Eurasian Economic Forum.During the forum’s plenary session titled “The EAEU in the Global Digital Race: Betting on Artificial Intelligence,” President Lukashenko is expected to outline Belarus’ vision for technological cooperation within the EAEU, with a special focus on the integration of artificial intelligence into the real economy. He will also highlight Belarus’ domestic achievements and practical experience in the field of AI development.
The Supreme Eurasian Economic Council meeting, scheduled for 29 May, will feature discussions on nearly two dozen agenda items in both narrow and expanded formats. Leaders of member states are set to discuss key issues including international trade expansion, cooperation with global partners, artificial intelligence, customs regulations, and the implementation of joint regional projects.The summit is expected to further strengthen economic integration and technological collaboration among EAEU member states amid the rapidly evolving global digital landscape.
