President Tokayev Hails New Constitution as the Dawn of a New Era for Kazakhstan

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has described Kazakhstan’s new Constitution as a “truly epochal moment,” marking the beginning of a new era of progress, reform, and modernization for the country.Addressing the nation, President Tokayev said the Constitution represents a fundamental restructuring of Kazakhstan’s political system and a far-reaching transformation of state institutions and civil society. He hailed the nationwide referendum held on March 15 as a historic expression of patriotism and civic responsibility by the people.

The President announced that Constitution Day will now coincide with the beginning of the Nauryznama decade, symbolically linking the traditions of spring renewal with the national values of solidarity, knowledge, and hard work.He emphasized that the new Constitution provides a strong legal foundation for achieving the country’s long-term goals while reinforcing the principles of law and order, diligence, progress, and environmental responsibility.President Tokayev stressed that national unity will be the key to Kazakhstan’s future success, expressing confidence that, by standing together, the country can reach new heights of development and build a Fair Kazakhstan—one that guarantees equal opportunities and comprehensive progress for all citizens.Concluding his address, the President voiced confidence that the constitutional reforms will pave the way for lasting prosperity and sustainable development across Kazakhstan.The new Constitution, approved through a nationwide referendum, introduces significant reforms to the country’s system of governance. It consists of a preamble, 11 sections, and 104 articles.
