Rising Scholar Dr. Mehr Mohsin Raza Named PMYP Focal Person for Sargodha & Australia Linkages

IslamabadDr. Mehr Mohsin Raza has been appointed as Focal Person to the Chairman, Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP), for Building Education Linkages in Sargodha Division and Australia.Dr. Raza is among the youngest PhD graduates in Education from the University of Sargodha, having completed his doctoral degree at the age of 26.

He has recently completed his second PhD from the School of Education, Deakin University, Australia, where his research focused on higher education governance, policy, and institutional reform.During his academic career, Dr. Raza served as an elected member of the Faculty Board at Deakin University for the 2024–2025 term. In this role, he advocated for student interests and contributed to initiatives aimed at enhancing academic opportunities and international collaboration. He also supported Pakistani students in securing fully funded PhD admissions in Australian universities.

His professional and academic engagements include prestigious fellowships with the National Assembly of Pakistan and RWTH Aachen University, Germany, where he worked on governance, policy, and higher education-related initiatives. He is also serving as a member of Pakistan’s National Strategic Task Force on Doctoral Education Reforms, contributing to discussions and recommendations aimed at strengthening doctoral education and higher education reforms in the country.

Under his new honorary assignment with the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, Dr. Raza will facilitate educational partnerships and collaboration among universities, educational institutions, youth organizations, and other stakeholders. His responsibilities will focus on strengthening academic cooperation, promoting youth engagement, supporting skills development initiatives, and enhancing educational linkages between Sargodha, Australia, and Pakistan’s broader higher education sector.The appointment is being viewed as recognition of Dr. Raza’s contributions to education, youth development, academic leadership, higher education reform, and international collaboration.
