Saudi Arabia Deploys 22,000 Workers for Massive Hajj Cleanliness Operation

ISLAMABAD, May 28 (APP): Saudi authorities launched one of the largest sanitation operations during Hajj 1447 AH, deploying more than 22,000 workers and over 88,000 cleaning units across the holy sites to ensure cleanliness and public health for millions of pilgrims.According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the Holy Makkah Municipality removed over 16,000 tons of waste while maintaining round-the-clock environmental sanitation services throughout the Hajj season.

The large-scale operation utilized 123 waste compactors, nearly 45,000 waste containers, 1,235 compacting bins, and more than 3,000 field vehicles and machines operating in Mina, Arafat, and other holy sites.Authorities said sanitation campaigns covered over 46,000 locations through continuous spraying, sterilization, and preventive treatment measures in densely populated pilgrim areas.

SPA further reported that rapid cleaning and rehabilitation work was carried out in Mina immediately after pilgrims departed for Arafat to ensure the site was fully prepared for their return following Hajj rituals.Saudi authorities continue extensive municipal and environmental efforts to maintain cleanliness, public health, and uninterrupted services during Hajj 1447 AH.
